Google Home App is a smart speaker app used to control all the features of your Google Home devices. It was released in 2017 and had a very simple interface. You can say “Hey Google,” “Ok Google,” “Alexa,” or “Echo” to activate any Google Home device.

You can also use the app to control smart home devices, such as lights, thermostats, and other gadgets. How cool is that?

If you have many Google Home devices, you can link them to the same account and use them together.

In the past few years, Google has been hard at work on making its smart home devices more appealing to users. One of the most notable changes is the redesign of the Google Home app.

The Google Home app has undergone a major redesign, and it’s not just a cosmetic upgrade. The new app is designed to be faster and easier to use, and it comes with several key features that are designed to make life a little bit easier for you.

Let’s talk about the new version of this and how it can help you make your life more advanced. But before that, let’s quickly take an overview of smart home devices.

Smart Home Devices

Smart home devices communicate via the Internet, using a phone or computer to create a virtual home network. Smart home devices range from simple motion-activated lights to sophisticated thermostats that can change temperature levels remotely.

These devices are generally controlled through an application on your computer or mobile device. Some smart home devices can also manage your home security systems.

Moreover, these devices can also help you wake up. Finding it hard to believe? These devices can switch on when you wake up and switch off when you want to sleep. Isn’t it mind-blowing?

Smart home devices include doorbells, thermostats, light bulbs, motion sensors, and security cameras. They’re all connected to your Wi-Fi and work together to help make your house safer and easier to live in. These devices can make your life easier, but they also come with risks, so read your device’s user manual before setting up any new ones in your home.

How Does Google Home App Work?

The Google Home app is the hub for all your Google Home devices. You can link all your Google Home devices to your Google account and access them from the same place.

You can also merge many Google Home devices to the same account and use them together.

One home automation system can control door locks, cameras, lights, thermostats, television, and waves. You must have to install the system on a mobile device or tablet.  Users can also create schedules for specific changes.

Smart home devices have two systems of set up. Installing a wireless system is easier.  Yet, wireless home automation systems can be expensive. It will cost you double if they have climate control, security, and smart lighting.

On the other hand, hardwired systems are considered more reliable and are typically more difficult to hack. The resale value of a house can be increased with a hardwired system.

Google Home Users

Google Home users can use voice commands to implement a range of voice-activated tasks.

Through google assistant, users can get answers to the questions. For example, what is the weather today?

Users can call via activation of voice. It saves time for users and is beneficial for people who can’t type numbers. Or they can even activate or switch on the devices by simply calling on a preset number. This feature may arrive with upcoming updates in some countries.

Google home can cast YouTube videos and music. Users just have to ask google home to play Netflix or YouTube videos. And google will fulfill the orders.

You can also stream music to more than one speaker set using Chromecast audio. However, this feature is not for all brand speakers. Google Home Users can entertain themselves by giving voice commands to the tech giant.

Having the ability to recognize different voices Google Home App gives personalized results. All the family members can give it commands, and Google will do its job.

Let’s address the most interesting part of today’s post. The redesigning of the Google Home App.

Google Home App Redesigned

Google recently revamped its Google Home app to make it easier to use.

With Android 11 & up, you can now interact with your devices via a single screen, similar to the device control panel.

The new design also adds a section called “More controls.” It will allow you to adjust the volume and power on any device. The major change in this update is the tiles that replace large device icons with new interactive elements. If you want to control the brightness or volume on each of your devices, you can slide left or right on each of them. The device will turn on or off just by tapping.

The new tiles have rounded corners. By pressing long, you can see full control over each gadget.

The new design has changed the look of the device icons. The previous design had a large device icon in the center of the screen. It wasn’t easy to tap the apps because they were too far from the screen. Instead of having one large device icon, Google has added several smaller icons on each side. You can now touch and hold the icon to turn the device on or off with this.

The newly redesigned homepage allows you to control your devices in a single place without tapping many menus to find each item in your smart home.

Google aims for the layout to be clutter-free. It will also automatically line up your important and recent home events.

These all Version 2.49 updates seem like they make google home more effortless.

Wrapping Up!

Google Home App is updated with a new look that focuses on a streamlined layout. With the redesigned Home App, you’ll see subtle changes in the navigation, including a cleaner search bar, better app previews, and a cleaner menu.

The updated UI is designed to help you find relevant content faster. You can also access your voice requests more easily. Finally, the updated Google Home app gives you quick access to some features, such as voice reminders.
